What is 'OMG'?

The OMG is the Object Management Group.

The Object Management Group is a not-for-profit consortium that produces and maintains computer-industry specifications. Any company may join the OMG and participate in the standards-setting process.

Important standards that have emerged from the OMG are:

  • CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture
  • UML (Unified Modeling Language)
  • MDA (Model-Driven Architecture)
